Anthia Diaz - Freshman
Anthia’s petite stature and quiet nature might be deceiving because underneath lies a determined and hardworking personality. She is very observant and often has a twinkle in her eyes. She takes great pride in helping others and never seems to tire of it.
Anthia was born and raised in Harlem, New York as the eldest of 2 girls. Originally her family is from the Dominican Republic to which she and her family have close ties. Her favorite subjects are math and science/ biology. But on her time alone Anthia loves to interact with others, draw, read and sleep.
Anthia attended middle school in Harlem and was in the first graduating class at KIPPSTAR. KIPP stands for Knowledge is Power Program and STAR stands for Success through Achievement, Respect, and Responsibility. She learned about ABC through KIPP where she was an excellent student and role model. Over the summer she attended an enrichment program that prepared her for the 9th grade at DHS. Anthia is adjusting very well in Darien and at the ABC house.
The Johnstons and the Sullivans love having Anthia in their midst on the assigned host family weekends. | ||||
