Anthia Diaz - Junior
Anthia’s petite stature and quiet nature might be deceiving because underneath lies a determined and hardworking personality. She is very observant and often has a twinkle in her eyes. She takes great pride in helping others and never seems to tire of it.
Anthia was born and raised in Harlem, New York as the eldest of 2 girls. Originally her family is from the Dominican Republic to which she and her family have close ties. Her favorite subjects are math and psychology. On her own, Anthia loves to interact with others, surf the web, read and sleep.
Anthia attended middle school in Harlem and was in the first graduating class at KIPPSTAR. KIPP stands for Knowledge is Power Program and STAR stands for Success Through Achievement, Respect, and Responsibility.
Over the summer Anthia tutored 8th graders and felt very proud when she saw all her students pass summer school. Anthia enthusiastically welcomed our Freshman and her new room-mate Angie this fall, another Latina and fellow Harlem resident. The Johnston's and the Sullivan's families love having Anthia on their assigned host family weekends. | ||||
